Helping to protect animals and people from abuse and neglect
The Holly’s Law Project aims to improve the response to the link between abuse of animals and people
Holly’s Law calls for urgent amendments to the existing Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme (DVDS, Clare’s Law) to include information on animal offending when making disclosure of domestic abuse to potential victims, as well as better information sharing across agencies such as the RSPCA and the police.
Holly’s Law aims to:
improve existing statutory guidance to allow police to confidently disclose crucial information about animal abuse and neglect to those who need this information.
Allow those in domestic abuse relationships to understand if their pet or themselves are at risk of abuse and/or neglect.
Improve information sharing between agencies on animal related offending.
